the nerve center

Hot:

We just created The Nerve Center to figure out what you want to see more of on Experimental Marketing.com

Here’s how it works. All you have to do is click the red Feedback tab on the left side of the screen and you’ll get a popup that will bring you to our new forum. (I just set this up tonight and don’t know much about coding, so I’ll be improving the interface over the next several days).

All you have to do is make suggestions on things you think we should do to improve the website, and vote on other people’s ideas. The more you vote and interact, the more votes you get. It’s that simple.

I want ExperimentalMarketing.com to be a site that is designed around your ideas rather than just mine. I think we can make somthing WAY cooler together.

So let the whole community know what you think we can do to make this the coolest marketing site EVER!

Click the RED FEEDBACK tab on the left to be heard!

SHABAMBO!

    Reading through it would seem that ideas are beginning to really flourish. Like a big overgrown kid again I can hardly wait for the next installment. To Garry above; There is a firm in Germany I think that has developed a..... how can I put it, a large lego type building system made from plywood that takes various insulation infills to suit the environment its being built in. www.hib-system.com
    should find you what your looking for, I think. We need a dictionary type / library of ideas and processes for just about everything........ Sorry Guy's pen ran away with my finger.

  • Don't fully know the answer to that Ben, invite a celeb..the website could ask or set a list of peoples top ten marketing tips,gaffs,guru slaying methods or most popular branded systems and solutions.
  • Hi Tellman

    As I stated in my previous post on the subject, I am very happy that you have ‘discovered’ crowdsourcing.

    I sense that, like me, you recognise that crowdsourcing has far greater potential than has been generally been recognised … up to now.

    I have long wanted to invite you to collaborate with me on a concept I have been developing … but up to now have been unsure on how to approach the issue. You have now opened the door.

    You have at your disposal many of the resources needed to make this work, and I’m pretty sure that what I am offering could be of considerable interest to you, and may result in a mutually highly beneficial business relationship.

    Essentially the concept takes crowdsourcing to another level entirely.

    By way of introduction, I’m a creative maverick with big ideas. What I did not realise until very recently is that I am also ADD … I merely sensed I was somehow 'different' to other people - without really knowing how or why.

    Coming to terms with this realisation was the catalyst I needed to push forward with my concept – because I realised that it could help countless other people – not only me.

    In common with so many of my ilk, my challenge has always been this – I have scores of brilliant ideas … but lack the financial resources and many of the specialised skills necessary to successfully implement my plans (being ADD yourself you will identify with what I’m referring to).

    For the past 18 months I have been trying to figure out an efficient and replicable FORMULA to link up my ideas to venture capital and implementation professionals … those with the power to translate my dreams into reality.

    The beauty is that the system I’ve developed offers the same opportunity to every 'creative maverick ' with a great idea … anyone who has ever been forced to confront a similar reality.

    The venture goes under the working title, ‘Sorcerers’.

    ‘Sorcerers’ addresses the problem by providing a SYSTEM that combines social networking with open-innovation and crowdsourcing methodologies.

    In the process ‘Sorcerers’ confirms the validity of various theories that Malcolm Gladwell brilliantly expounds in his tour de force - "The Tipping Point" … which has been a major source of inspiration for the project.

    What ‘Sorcerers’ provides is a system that unerringly connects:
    - those seeking unique and groundbreaking solutions … to the precise individuals who can supply the best ‘outside-the-box’ answers, and
    - those with true creative genius … to those best able to implement their inspired ideas.

    Sorcerers is an open-innovation initiative in which all who contribute will share in the profits. It is envisaged as an open-ended collective investment scheme (SICAV). Partners can contribute in a number of ways, all of which are recognised as a legitimate equity contribution – be it financial, intellectual property or sweat equity.

    ‘Sorcerers’ will set out to unlock examples of disruptive innovation that, up till now, have proved logistically impossible for the inventor or concept originator to implement. It will systematically:

    - Persuade those individuals with the big ideas that what this offers the best chance of realizing them;
    - Provide them with a social networking platform where they can interact with fellow creatives, and with people who can evaluate the true potential of each idea;
    - Provide guides and mentors to develop their crude idea into a polished proposal;
    - Evaluate the idea's ‘stickiness factor’
    - Facilitate connections with venture capital and implementation professionals;
    - Ensure that these ideas and concepts are rapidly transformed into highly desirable products and services;
    - Imbue the new products and services with widespread credibility and popularity;
    - Mobilise word-of-mouth campaigns that rapidly propel these new products and services onto the global stage;
    - Trigger social epidemics that ensure the new products and services virally reach and are bought by a hungry world-wide market.

    I am currently working with a global network of some 90 collaborators on this venture, including some of the most influential figures in the social/business networking pantheon.

    One of these collaborators, Iain MacKenzie (from Australia) referred to the Sorcerers concept as a practical way of “Activating the Law of Attraction”.

    That's no exaggeration!

    If you survey the list above, the role of the network marketer is obvious.

    The idea then is that ‘Sorcerers’ … in partnership with those ‘ideas’ people, the concept originators … can either choose to develop each specific concept into a fully fledged independent business venture (here the power of crowdsourcing will demonstrated as never before) ... or alternatively sell the concept to the highest bidder.

    Whichever way, the resultant profitability (both for the concept originator, and for Sorcerers) is likely to be huge.

    In as far as I am able to put this request and motivation into a nutshell, that’s it!

    I await your response with keen anticipation.

    Kind regards

    Ian Bentley
